Vacation Diary - A Day In
Puerto Vallarta
This was the perfect place to come to furnish our
house in Arizona. We shopped the market for blankets and textiles. Then
we stopped in lots of small shops and galleries for both contemporary
and folk art pieces.
Mid-day we headed back to the hotel. I decided to
get up my courage and try parasailing. Floating gently over Banderas Bay
was so lovely that I forgot to be nervous.
We watched a magnificent sunset over the
Pacific at a beach bar. Now we are off to John Huston's Night of the
Iguana, the restaurant housed in one of the sets he built for the movie. |
Vacation Diary - A Day In Ixtapa & Zihuatanejo
This is the best of both worlds for a
family vacation. We are staying in Ixtapa, a new resort area and are
able to tour the most charming fishing village, Zihuatanejo.
Today was
the kid's day to choose the activity. They started with a snorkeling
trip to Isla Ixtapa which is an ecological preserve. Then this afternoon
it was volleyball on the beach, oldsters us, teens. (The teens won). For
dinner it was La Sirena Gorda, an open-air restaurant, followed by a
walk down Paseo del Pescador and window shopping.
Tomorrow, the oldsters have chosen some slightly
less active choices like sitting on he beach with a book or possibly a
sunset cruise. Viva la vacation!
